Digital Services

The most important aspect of the digital printing process is the digitizing of the image.

"The Creative Process"-Vietri Sul Mare, ItalyThere is only so much that can be done to make a poor quality digital file look good as printed output. Many of our clients are using high resolution digital cameras, and therefore are providing high quality files which are ready to print. Other clients are using film which they need to have us scan. Many artists also need to have their original artwork scanned; we can easily work with any size up to 4 feet by 6 feet.

Flatbed Scanning & Digital Capture
For flat artwork, whether it is a print, painting, map or historical document, it is essential to start with a very high resolution scan to record every subtle detail. For pieces up to 17” x 22”, we would utilize a flatbed scanner. For pieces larger than this, we would digitize the image utilizing a Better Light scanning back in conjunction with North Light’s studio copy lights. We have found this set-up to be the absolute best way to reproduce oversize artwork.

Using either method of digitizing, we are capable of capturing your media in a manner that will record and reproduce both the smallest details and color rendition whether the piece is printed at the same size, enlarged or reduced.

Film Scanning
“Window Shopping”-Venice, ItalyMany of our clients still choose to use traditional photographic film. For such clients, we offer two grades of film scanning services. On the more economical side, we offer basic high resolution film scans from 35mm and medium format films which are suitable for enlarging up to 24” x 36”. When the absolute highest degree of clarity and detail is necessary or when enlargements greater than 24” x 36” are desired, we also offer drum scanning services through one of our local vendors.

Critical Color Correction & Proofing
Once the digitizing has been completed, the next step of the fine-art printing process is expert color correction combined with proofing on the desired media. We work with each individual artist to ensure that the final print matches his/her desired expectation. Seeing color and being able to accurately reproduce it is truly an art; trust our experience and expertise to help you achieve your artistic vision.

Retouching & Restoration
“San Pietro”-Rome, ItalyBring your treasured photos or artwork back to life. We offer very reasonable rates for the highest quality digital retouching, restoration and enhancement. Quotes are free and turnaround times are quick.

Consultation
We offer one-on-one digital consultation sessions for clients who wish to be part of the editing, color correcting and proofing processes.
